A new iPad Pro with an M2 chip and wireless charging could be released later this year, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. Even though it is the most expensive model of Apple’s tablet, the iPad Pro (as well as the entry-level models of the product) still does not have a wireless charging option.

Gurman also gave some other hints about where Apple could go for its iPad Pro line in the Q&A section of its newsletter . According to the journalist, the new tablets will feature an Apple M2 chip, which recently debuted in the 2022 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13.

The models will also bring camera updates and wireless charging, according to the journalist. If that latest prediction comes true, the 2022 iPad Pro lineup will be Apple’s first to support wireless charging.

In another iPad Pro rumor, Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young stated that Apple is working on a model of the tablet with a 14.1-inch mini LED screen. Another leaker, Majin Bu , said the same thing on Twitter.

Returning to the issue of wireless charging, Apple took a while to get on the trend, but iPhones have had the feature for more than five years. The iPhone 8 , from 2017, was the company’s first smartphone with wireless charging, for example.
